From LabTrove Documentation
Jump to: navigation, search

You can choose to export an individual Post as either an XML file or a PNG image file. You can choose whether to include details of attached data files on the Post in the XML file export option.

Exporting a Post as an XML File

To export a Post as an XML file:

  1. Locate the Post you want to export, and click on the title to display the Post page.
  2. in the This Post section on the navigation menu, click the link XML under the Export: heading.

In some browsers the XML file is automatically opened in the browser when you click on the link. To download the XML file, right click the link and select the appropriate option to download the file to your file system.

If you want to include references to information about data files attached to the Post, click the With Files link instead. The XML contains an attached_data section with URLs to XML information about the data files attached to the post. You can use these URLs to get additional XML information about the attached data files.

For more information about the XML elements and their contents, see XML format for a Post.

Exporting an image of a Post

You can export an image of a Post as a PNG file. To export a PNG file from a Post:

  1. Locate the Post you want to export, and click on the title to display the Post page.
  2. in the This Post section on the navigation menu, click the link PNG Image under the Export: heading.

A PNG file is created showing the contents of the Post including any attached files. Comments are not included. In some browsers the PNG file is automatically opened in the browser when you click on the link. To download the PNG file, right click the link and select the appropriate option to download the file to your file system.
